What‘s the anion strip and how it protects your health

Conventional pads are often irritating to the skin, their composition is not always known, and it is therefore not clear what chemicals can be released and stored in the body when you use them.

Most pads absorb a small amount of moisture, because of that, they must be often changed. Therefore, such pads can only be used by women whose discharge is not abundant.

Each layer of Gentle Day® liners and pads is designed to perform its functions better during the menstrual period or in everyday use. The cotton surface of the daily liner does not irritate the skin, and the soft top layer of these products for critical days allows the liquid to pass through it very quickly, so that the surface remains dry.

The layer of biodegradable polymer gel absorbs moisture perfectly, turning it into a jelly-like state. This gel has a very good absorbency – it absorbs up to 5 times more compared to conventional liners and pads. Side edges provide excellent protection against lateral leakage.

The base layer with micropores has a high permeability for air, and the adhesive strip that is used in the food industry does not clog the pores of the lower layer, so that even on the hottest summer day the woman feels fresh and comfortable. What Is Anion?

First of all, it has nothing to do with onions; let's get it out of the way... There are two types of ions in the air – positive and negative. Positive ions are considered harmful to the human body, whereas negative ions are proven to be beneficial. They have been known to help relieve stress, alleviate depression and boost energy levels.

Anions (or negative ions) are atoms or molecules that have more electrons than protons and giving off what is known as a negative charge. In nature, negative ions are created with air molecules broken apart by sunlight, radiation and moving air or water. Some places where negative ions can be found are forests, ocean, and waterfalls.

Anion in the air is like vitamins in food; they greatly benefit people's health and everyday routine, which can facilitate body growth and disease prevention. Infrared radiation is gaining popularity as a safe method of therapy with the warmth of natural origin and physiotherapy.

Protection From Odor and Bacteria

With the help of high technology, a tourmaline crystal is used in the yellow strip of Gentle Day® liners and pads. Under the influence of moisture and heat of the human body, pressure or friction, infrared radiation (heat) and anions (negatively charged oxygen ions) are generated. The strip then emits the Anions into the air – releasing between 5800 to 6000 Anions per centimeter.

This process effectively helps to suppress the survival and multiplication of bacteria, eliminate odour and promote comfort during a woman’s menstruation cycle.

Anion strip helps to remove the unpleasant odor and growth of bacteria inside the liners and pads. It gives a feeling of freshness and comfort, protects the skin and woman‘s reproductive system from intimate ailments caused by bacteria in the pads. The test results confirm that the anion strip in sanitary pads reduces the odor of ammonia to 85% and destroys 99.9% of the bacteria of Staphylococcus aureus.

Balanced pH level

The healthy human skin is slightly acidic. Sour environment helps us fight bacteria and fungi. Changes in pH can be influenced by hormonal changes, stress and improper use (or use of non-quality) personal care products.

The use of chemicals also disrupts the pH of the skin. When the pH level is violated, the environment on the skin becomes alkaline. As a result, irritation, itching, pain, odor, pathological discharge or infection may occur.
