Oregano Wild (Origanum vulgare) is a hardy perennial herb that grows in a bush up to 90 centimeters in height with small, ovate, fragrant leaves and pink-purple flowers. Oil of Oregano, which is distilled from the flowers and leaves of the oregano plant, could be one of nature's most powerful antibiotics. This natural and versatile oil can be used in multiple ways to help defend you from infection by dangerous bacteria. Studies have shown that oil of oregano is effective at killing bacteria, and could also help the immune system take action against viruses, fungi and parasites. For aromatherapy purposes, Oregano Oil is useful in blends to treat symptoms associated with colds, flues. It can also be used as a fragrance component in soaps, colognes and perfumes, especially men's fragrances.
